Safeguarding Officer (Football Pathway)

The City Football Group (CFG) is committed to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults across all its business operations. The Group’s safeguarding framework extends across a global portfolio of football clubs, commercial soccer operations, and charitable foundation activities.

The CFG is looking to recruit a suitably experienced and qualified individual as its Safeguarding Officer (Football Pathway) who, reporting to the Safeguarding Manager (UK &MENA), can continue to drive forward the CFG’s safeguarding framework, known as SafeAtCity. The role is based in Manchester at the City Football Academy site and is focussed on supporting the Manchester City Football Club’s elite football programmes – boy’s and girl’s academy, and men’s and women’s senior programmes.

You will lead and develop a large team of direct reports, and through this team will manage up to 50 casual employees on event days.

You will manage a high number of third-party relationships and partnerships.

Innovation is key to success in this role, and as such you will continually enhance both product and service.

Through an in depth understanding of market trends and customer behaviours, you will identify commercial opportunities and will consistently drive revenue.

The implementation of robust procedures and controls will ensure consistency across all parts of the operation and will deliver strong profitability.

You will ensure full adherence to Health and Safety and Food Safety Legislation.

The person

You will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a fast paced, high volume retail environment such as stadium, arena, or high street chain.

You will have worked in a similarly complex structure and will have successfully built and managed great internal and external relationships and partnerships.

Project Management experience will be vital to success in this role, and you will demonstrate great planning skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.

You'll have the discipline and flexibility to produce excellent standards of individual work, and to be a strong and impactful team player.

You'll be an inspirational leader, with a successful track record of building high performing, engaged teams. You'll have a robust people plan and be dedicated to ensuring that your team are trained, prepared, and capable of being the best they can be.

You'll be commercially astute and will translate your desire to achieve results into a compelling vision to which your people are aligned.

Willingness to work flexibly, including outside of normal working hours is essential as this is not a Monday – Friday operation.

Casual Coach

We are currently recruiting a casual coach to help with sessions in Manchester. 

Applicants must have the following qualifications and experience to be considered:

  • FA Level 2 or above with Modules 1-2 and be an FA Coaching License member
  • Experience working with young players nationally and/ or internationally
  • Applicants need to be flexible, organised and have effective communication skills
  • Delivery of programs according to the aims and objectives of the project.
  • Delivery and implementation of the MCFC coaching philosophy, methodology and principals.
  • Delivery of MCFC coach education programs to both to local coaches, teachers and students.
  • Coaches will need to provide up to date DBS and Safeguarding Certificate
